6 Easy tips that will Motivate you to move your body
1. Put on your workout clothes
Get dressed in your workout clothes first thing in the morning. For whatever reason, doing that was a game changer for me. It’s about starting your day out with the right mindset. Changing into workout clothes is sometimes the hardest part. So why not take that out of the equation and put them on from the start?
2. What to wear
That brings me to my next tip. Wear the right workout clothes. I don’t know about you, but feeling good in my clothes motivates me just a bit more. I have some pretty fabulous workout gear. I’m telling you, make an investment in your workout clothes. They should fit well, look nice, stay put (don’t roll down!) be flattering and be comfortable. I could write a whole post on workout clothes. However, I’ll leave that for another time.

3. Schedule and Plan
Scheduling has actually been a huge struggle of mine in the past. I get distracted. Whether it’s my 3 young children, my house chores, my job…. etc…. there is always something else I could be doing. I have every intention of doing 1700 things in a day, and then I only get 2 done. WOOMP WOOMP. A good friend of mine introduced me to this planner.

This planner has a monthly, weekly and daily calendar. Writing things down makes it straightforward and simple for me to complete my tasks. Therefore, PRIORITIZE and SCHEDULE physical activity into your day. As soon as it becomes a routine and a habit, it will get easier.
4. Make your goals visible
In addition to the planner, I have a calendar hanging up on my wall and every day is filled with exercises and/or goals. Having the visual is perfect and a great reminder. I love checking the boxes when I’m done. There is some satisfaction and sense of accomplishment in that. Even if you don’t plan on working out every day, write that in as well. Rest and stretch days are just as important!
5. Promise yourself 5 minutes
This is a big one! Promise yourself you will do at least 5 minutes of your workout. That’s it. Obtainable! Are you doing an online workout? Hit that play button! Going for a run? GO! Start with a few minutes, and see what happens. Since I’m pretty competitive, once I start a workout I tend to complete it. I like to think of the first few minutes as a check-in for my body. There are times your body needs a rest. That is to say, listen to your body.
I do online workouts from home with BeachBody! They have some great programs and I’ve had incredible results <3 Here is the link to the newest program I will be doing called 9 Week Control Freak. Check it out here!
6. Accountability
Most importantly is accountability. This was the biggest factor that helped me to get moving!!! Having someone, or a group of people, who support you is IMPORTANT. My friend started a phenomenal Facebook group earlier this year. So as a result, I have been consistent with my health and fitness. For example,I remember the first day of a new workout program. I posted in the group saying I needed encouragement to help get started… and I got just that. Therefore, having accountability is likely to help you reach your goals.
